Platforms supply sensors with power, read data from the sensors, send the data to, and retrieve desired state of sensors and actuators from the data processing system.

Mobile platforms such as USV are also used to deliver sensors to the data collection sites.

USV Raider 2

Raider 2 is an ultralight solar and wind powered unmanned surface vehicle (USV) designed for oceangoing missions.

ArduPilot based autopilot supports waipoints guidance, sensor based guidance, and station keeping. It is equipped with Iridium satellite short burst data (SBD) transceiver for long-range and cellular data modem for close to shore communications.

The USV can accomodate up to 30 lbs. of custom, mission-dependent load.
